(More customer reviews)I spend every Saturday with my 3 nephews. One is 6, the others are two 3-year old twins. This book has saved my life! So many times the kids have been over and I haven't had any idea of how to keep them occupied! Since about January of this year, I've been using "200 Instant Crafts" as an instant sources of great craft ideas. The best part is how inexpensive the crafts are to make. I really do have most of the stuff around the house. The guidelines that tell me for what age the craft is appropriate have been an immense help to me. I had no idea what a 3 year old could and couldn't do as opposed to the 6 year old. Using these guidelines keeps me from asking the kids to do something they aren't ready to do. I'll be using this book all Summer! Thanks.

(More customer reviews)This book is a fantastic resource for those days when you are struggling to think of new ways to have fun with the kids. I liked the variety, for example some projects did not require a lot of advance preparation and can be done in under thirty minutes, while others look quite involved. And it's not all just a bunch of arts and crafts --this book includes tons of games and activities for everything from snowday fun to a day at the beach. There are also some fun with food projects (though this section doesn't offer much that's new if you already have any cooking with kids books). I've only had the book a week and I've already used several of the ideas -- my third grade son and I made the marshmallow snowman on page 129 for a school project and we used the backyard games section to plan party games for ten boys. That was a blast! This book reminded us of some old games we loved to play when we were kids and helped us think up some new games. The party was a big success and this is a great book to have on hand for those times you'd love to have the T.V. turned off and the kids tuned in to fun!

I bought this book hoping it would have lots of pages, ideas, etc to print off so I could "school" my 3/4 year old. It does have lots of ideas, but they are all in written format and they require a significant amount of supplies. If that is what you are looking for, this book is great. If you were wanting worksheets, try another book.

Also I found the singing and games to be useful for any mother who is trying to find her preschool or early elementary child something to do while they are at home.
Also the singing and games are great family activities.

We have made relief prints from real fish, butterflies and flowers from coffee filters, snowy day paintings, potato prints, and lots more. This is what I pull out when I'm going to babysit for friends!

As for the good ideas, you can find those in many other books, along with many more useful ones. Skip this and use The Instant Curriculum, which is wonderful.
