(More customer reviews)I enjoyed reading this book about life on the road. So many people have jobs that take them away from home constantly, and yet we forget about those people who actually are in charge of getting people to and from their destination. Those of us who work in the public, realize that everyone is very, very different from each other. Some people are pleasant, others are rude. This book is written with a witty sense of humor and you can't help but laugh at how silly people can be, and how some people have no common sense to the real world. It is a fast read with many humerous stories that this driver endured over the years. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone who has ever traveled or plan on traveling in the future, especially on a motorcoach. This book was a lot of fun to read.

As various tour bus driving incidents came to mind I would toss them into a file (on my laptop, of course) for future reference. I kept thinking these stories and incidents need to be recorded in detail. Before long I was compiling them in chapters and common subject sequence. I often went back to some of my journals to refresh myself and get additional details of stories that were limited on the hard drive of my mind.Tour bus memories usually occur when something out of the ordinary happens: a mechanical breakdown, someone has a big faux pas, someone coming late to the pickup, a passenger dies while on your trip, an accident (God forbid), serious weather interventions, etc.All of these, and more, have happened to me; so, of course, I have a lot of memories. Whenever something like that would happen I would say, This is going in my book. I would make a note to myself to be sure to get it in the file on my laptop. The gamut of experiences related here range from the very common to the most bizarre.I ve only found one book that was written by a tour bus operator and his experiences. From the bits and pieces I read he didn t go into detail on some of the wildest experiences such as I tell. But believe me I m not alone with any one of these driving experiences. Any tour bus operator from almost any other part of the country will vouch for similar tales. In fact, stories I ve heard from other bus operators around various rear-of-the-hall lunch tables where we had been relegated, helped to inspire me to start recording my own experiences. Most of my stories and incidents are exactly as I encountered them. Some accounts have been related to me by other drivers. For the most part, I have tried to relate incidents accurately as they occurred. At times I have changed names, locations, or a few minor details to protect the innocent. If one chapter doesn t interest you, skip to the next. I will not require you to read this book from cover to cover! Take a moment and breeze through a chapter here and there at your leisure. Stories and chapters should be short enough for you to keep this novel in the bathroom where it may provide entertainment for those occasional long waits.
