(More customer reviews)This book does not live up to its description! I was expecting a book that would give me fresh ideas for activities my toddler could do with some degree of independence. That is NOT what I got.
Most of the ideas were not very original ("Have your toddler hit the pavement with some sidewalk chalk"), and most of them are more appropriate for older children ("Have your toddler make dolls from panty hose.") A few ideas have serious safey concerns ("Let your toddler play with your hair accessories" and "Let your toddler play with packing popcorn"). Other ideas are not at all independent ("Have your toddler help make homemade pizza"). Many ideas assume your child can independently cut with scissors. Some other favorites: "Get help watching your toddler from a friend" and "Hand your toddler off to your spouse."
Also, fair warning to those who are not Christian: More than a few of the ideas are about Christmas and Easter. As a Christian, this didn't bother me, but I have several friends of other faiths who would probably not choose this book.
