(More customer reviews)This book is pretty cool. It's got tons of adventure and it keeps your attention throughout the whole story. There's a wide variety of characters as well as creatures most people won't be familiar with, but will be able to find if you dig into Celtic mythology. If you're interested in Irish stories, or just Ireland itself, you'll easily be able to jump into this story. If you're into mythology, especially Celtic, you'll enjoy this. You'll be sucked into a world you've never been in before from the first page. Very cool.

What truth is there in folklore? Is it just stories handed down from generation to generation, told to children to scare them? Or perhaps with every story there is some truth? First it s a story, then the story becomes myth, and then the myth becomes LEGEND.Kathryn and Billy Murphy are American twins, aged twelve, now living in Ballyrun, Ireland with their crotchety old grandfather. He, along with many locals from a quaint Irish town, paint a colorful picture of Irish myths and legends of the great Arthur s Seat, a massive mountain in Ireland and the tales of the Otherworld that lies beyond it. After some particularly strange faery sightings and receiving her mother s favorite book as a gift, Kathryn figures out her grandmother s necklace is the key to finding the Otherworld. Unfortunately for Kathryn, she's been grounded. It is then her adventurous side kicks in and she disobeys her Grandfather in search of the truth. With only one day left to enter the Raven's Gate, she enlists her brother to climb Arthur s Seat with her. Seeking to find out what is real and what is not, in the realm of the faery-folk, Kathryn and Billy come face to face with their own destinies.
