Walk in the Spirit Review

Walk in the Spirit
Average Reviews:

This lucid and concise book will cause a paradigm shift in your spiritual walk. If, you read it, absorb it, and begin to apply the principles that Gloria Copeland takes right from the Bible and illustrates and conveys in easy format. I have been reading the Bible since I was five years old, for nearly thirty years now, and The Bible, "The Normal Christian Life" by Watchman Nee, and "Walk in the Spirit", by Gloria Copeland, have had the greatest impact on my life. Do not get me wrong, I have read many great Christian Books, it is just that these have impacted me the most.
Do not pass up this book up. If you read it, believe it, and apply it -- IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE! You will begin your journey of walking in the Spirit.

I bought this book along with the ScribbleMonster cd BEST OF FRIENDS (which is really fun, by the way). All I can say is the book rocks, too! The kids love the book and the music...

ScribbleMonster and the Broken TV contains clever line-art drawings intended to be completed by children ages one and up, thereby introducing young children to the joy of art. Children complete the skeletal illustrations by scribbling over them. The book is also appropriate for older children who will enjoy the story as well as completing the illustrations in greater detail. The book is written by a professional counselor who uses the story to advocate for limited screen-time for children. In the story, ScribbleMonster is forced to find something to do while the television at his house is being repaired. ScribbleMonster and his friends spend the afternoon engaged in several fun, hands-on activities. When the TV is finally fixed, the friends opt to turn it off and continue playing constructively. Activities and age-appropriate questions for discussion and processing are included at the end of the story.

Geography Centers, Grades 4-5 Review

Geography Centers, Grades 4-5
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My children absolutely loved working on this! They made the centers themselves (laminated and all) and then could not wait to actually get started on them. To be able to work on their own the cover recommends 4-5th grade, but with a parent a 3rd grader could do several of them. There are 12 File Folder Centers. Titles include...The Fifty States; Regions of the U.S.; North America Quiz; A World Puzzle; Mystery Countries; Looking at the Globe; Parts of a Map; Kinds of Maps; A Map Grid; Landfforms on Earth; Bodies of Water; and Time Zones of the U.S. There is a direction page to tape to the back of the folder (this tells how to make the center and has the directions for completeing that particular center); a cover for the front, full color materials for each center; reproducible record sheets; and a self-checking answer key.
I have used (too) many different map skills books trying to find one that they wouldn't get bored with. Well, I found it and this is it. Each folder offers a different way to learn the topic. I can't say enough about this book. I just wish I had found it before I wasted money on others. Buy it and your children will beg to do geography.

Have Fun with Your Kids the Lazy Way Review

Have Fun with Your Kids the Lazy Way
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Time seems to be our most valuable asset in today's high tech world, and unfortunately some-times our children suffer due to our lack of it. This book takes us back to the kinder and simpler days of having fun with our parents. Simple projects, innovative fun, clever ideas, inexpensive and original amusement. Best of all, in most instances, NO ELECTRICITY, CABLE, NAME BRANDS REQUIRED! Kids today are so used to having things do it all for them that they forget how to use thier own creativity and make simple pleasurable past-times with thier parents. Parents also today in most instances are so stressed out in trying to provide our kids with all the latest gadgets, electronics, and name brands that the actual time they have available to spend with thier kids is nominal. This wonderful book reminds us that we need to prior itize our time, re-think what is important to us and most of all what is best for our children. It is jam packed full of easy, LAZY, fun-filled ways to find time, make fun, and enjoy FAMILY life. I highly recommend it to any working parent.

The World of Little House Review

The World of Little House

The World of Little House is an excellent book about the history of the "Pioneer Girl", Laura Ingalls Wilder. Deborah Maze and Garth Williams did a wonderful job of illustrating the book with beautiful pictures. This book includes "How to Make Projects" such as Laura and Mary's Nine-Patch Quilt Squares along with "How to Make Recipes" such as Molasses-on-Snow Candy. Besides telling about Laura's life, the book includes interesting topics of what it was like to live in the 1860's through the 1940's. Such topics include information on general stores, prairie schools, covered wagons, medicine and housekeeping on the prairie. If you like Laura Ingalls Wilder, you must buy this book. History Speaks : George Washington's Farewell Address Review

History Speaks : George Washington's Farewell Address
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
There is a lot of good information in this book. But from what I can tell this is a scrubbed version. I did find;"honesty is the best policy", "virtue and morallity is necessary spring of popular government." Still,It does not have the full address. This is not the only one I've bought. An Example of a missing portion:" of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars." This is but one example. Many versions have been spiritually scrubbed. The words Liberal and conservative were also used to describe the parties of that era. I found this not relative and misleading. I would give this book 4 stars if it were complete. the Author like myself may be having trouble finding the full version. Brad

Plane Insanity: A Flight Attendant's Tales of Sex, Rage, and Queasiness at 30,000 Feet
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this book on a layover in Phoenix and didn't put it down until I was finished. As a very frequent business and personal traveler, I've seen many of the "nightmare" passengers described with such wit and humor by Mr. Hester.
It's always amazing to me how flight attendants are frequently treated like sub-humans by passengers, and how many people seem to lose all sense of tact and personal dignity once their boarding pass is taken. Having witnessed air rage, carry-on's the size of Texas, drunks, brawls and a million other human failings, reading Mr. Hester's flight attendant perspective confirmed what I've always suspected - they deal with a LOT, they're in a thankless position, and they're never appreciated until some heavy turbulence hits.
HIGHLY recommended, whether you're a frequent traveler or not - the humor is universal.
